Indian Navy Band to enthrall Goa

Indian Navy Band to enthrall Goa

The Indian Navy has been safeguarding our coastlines ever since the defence branch was first established. Through the years they have been securing the nation’s maritime borders, enhancing international relations through joint exercises, port visits and humanitarian missions, including disaster relief. However, the Indian Navy is also grown popular for its band of musically inclined members. The Naval band have been seen performing at various events of national and international significance, including the Republic Day Parade, the Beating Retreat and other such events of national prestige.

The Indian Naval Band has regaled and enthralled audiences across the country, and around the globe. So wide is their appeal that the internet has several clips dedicated to performances of this band. Alpart from showcasing their talent at the national events, the naval musicians accompany the naval ships on goodwill visits to many foreign shores, to play in ensemble with the bands of these foreign nations. The musicians of the Navy have, therefore, proved their mettle as musical ambassadors of the country.

Bringing this moment of pride to Goa, and giving the Goan music lovers a glimpse of their musical prowess, the Indian Navy, under the aegis of Flag Officer Commanding Goa Naval Area, will be organising a Band Concert at Kala Academy, Panaji and Ravindra Bhavan, Vasco in the coming weekend. The Naval Band will play under the direction of the Commander, VC D’Cruz. He is the Director of Music (Navy), who has his roots firmly attached to Goa.

The concert will be held on April 2 and April 3 at the Kala Academy at 6 p.m and on April 5 at the Ravindra Bhavan Vasco at 6 p.m. The show is free, however, there are passes that will give you entry into the venues. These can be collected from on March 30 and March 31 for the show at Kala Academy, and on April 3 and April 4 at the Ravindra Bhavan Vasco. The passes are available on first come first serve basis.
